WHAT IS VIS.LIT?:
Visual Literature (or "Vis.Lit" for short) is a new medium that combines Prose Literature, American Comic Books and Japanese Manga with Film narrative techniques, DVD presentation structures and the modern urban coolness of Computer Games into one focused pop medium. It expresses both fiction and non-fiction through high-impact visuals, usually shown in linear-sequential form with multiple panels (or frames) on each page.
Vis.Lit often comes in a serial format with each issue or episode containing between 25 to 35 pages of story content and special features. Popular genres include Horror, Comedy, Action Adventure and Fantasy.
A cheap, highly collectible and fun form of entertainment, Vis.Lit is sold online and delivered straight to your door for ease of enjoyment.
DIALOGUE TABS:
Most of the character dialogue in Vis.Lit is presented through Dialogue Tabs. Similar to the Comic Book Word Balloons, Dialogue Tabs are designed to read more like a script for the reader to act out the character’s words. Each Dialogue Tab has the name of the character speaking in the top left corner.
Every Dialogue Tab also comes colour-coded to specific characters to add more personality to each sentence. This way a character doesn’t need to appear “on-screen” for you to know who is talking and as you become familiar with the characters in a series, you can tell who is talking just by their colour-coding.
FORMATS:
There are two different formats for Vis.Lit;
REGULAR:
The Regular format is printed 5” x 7.5” inches (also known as Digest size) and is read from top to bottom, similar to how Comic Books are read.
DELUXE:
The Deluxe format is printed 6.625” x 10.25” inches. This is the same sizing as Comic Books but is read in a scroll-fashion, from side to side as you pan downwards.
VIS.LIT ONLINE:
In addition to Vis.Lit in print there is also the “V.LO” (or “Vis.Lit Online”) format, which presents Vis.Lit online on your computer screen in a way that is reader-friendly and often totally free to everyone.
Certain series’ have special V.LO content that isn’t available in print and is available only at www.Futurius.com. To access this content, choose a character page from the navigation menu at the top of the page and follow the story title links.
