Really excited this is out!! It’s a great book and brilliant value for money, so get your copy soon as you can! The Darkling Series Two will be out some time next year. Here’s to Dee and her friends!

I’m really looking forward to these coming out! There’s absolutely no quality issues whatsoever and it’s a bit of a thrill to see the things in print, even after all the other stuff we’ve brought out.

The Darkling Series One collection should be out any day now and we’ll bring out both Meta-Force AND Virtua-Girl in the same week so everyone buying can save a bit on postage, so look out for all three!! M-F and V-G previews coming soon!

The printers have done a bang-up job and seeing the barcode on the back of the book is a giddy thrill. The tpb will be available in bricks n’ mortar stores (providing they order copies) as well as available in Indyplanet.com’s online store so it’s pretty exciting knowing it’ll be out there.

It’s been a tough road since we started in 2004 with the Robin Node comic posters. I’ve still got a lot of them in packaging taking up space! Too sentimental to get rid of ‘em though. Then we did the two big volumes of Tales From The Plex, reformatting that title into the ongoing series, as well as the first Darkling mini. And now we’re finally getting to the proper superhero universe stuff. It feels strange. Some of the stuff coming up has been planned since I was a child, which I guess makes it a life-long dream. The original plan was to become a superstar creator with DC and work on Superman, Wonder Woman and the Legion Of Superheroes before breaking off and starting my own company. If I’d waited for that though I’d never have gotten anything of my own out.

I still don’t feel like I’m fully ready to bring this stuff out when there’s such a small fanbase in place for it. But then Superman came out without a fanbase, and through hard work and a couple of decades of amazing, awe-striking adventures he came to mean something to people. I keep wondering if someday these characters will mean something special to someone too…

Clubbin' with the Darkling crew!

I opened this issue with a feeling that was a combination of enthusiasm and dread. I was enthusiastic about getting to read another story about the adventures of D, my favorite blue-skinned vampiress. The series has been getting progressively better with each subsequent issue, so I had no doubt that this issue would continue that trend.

But I felt dread at the fact that I knew this would be the finale issue of the series. Bummer.

D and her friends encounter the big man himself, Count Dracula, as well as his party-boy son, Drake, who seems to take a liking to our favorite little vamp (shades of Romeo & Juliet!). Without spoiling any more of the story, let me just say that Chris J. Powers does, indeed, end this series on a high note.

And, best of all, there’s a hint of more to come!

Snowboarding Vampires!!! AAAAAAAIIEEE!!!!

Whoo-hoo! This book gets better & better!

We open with our heroine going snowboarding, having fun, while avoiding the latest assassination attempt from the Fashion-Conscious Ninja Girls. She then meets up with some friends, and accidentally stumbles upon a group an Ice-Vampire funeral. She then encounters a particularly old Vampire, who helps her learn a thing or two about herself.

As I said, this book gets better each issue, I’m anxiously awaiting the next one, though sad that it will the last.

The best issue of the series yet! D goes to her friend’s wedding, but the friend has cold feet. It could be because she realizes that she’s only known her fiance for a short time, or it could be because his mother has vowed to destroy her. Either way, it’s one ceremony you will never forget!
